Great Oaks Legacy Charter School is seeking a dynamic, mission-aligned educator to join our team as an Elementary School Autism Teacher to teach Pre-K - 4th Grade for the (2024-25) academic year.

Qualifications:
Evidence of NJ Department of Education K-6 and TOSD certification
Previous training/experience with Functional Behavior Assessments
Experience with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) required

Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university.
Demonstrated mastery of content knowledge and ability to drive student growth.
Prior teaching experience in an urban No Excuses school setting strongly preferred.
Extremely strong classroom management abilities.
Experience developing curriculum or potential to lead curricular development is strongly preferred.

Integrating ABA principles into our instruction and practices for students with autism and behavioral support needs.
Our Special Education Teachers are managed and coached by Associate Directors of Special Education, leaders with a wealth of Special Education experience.
GOL is shifting to Science of Reading-aligned instructional practices, with the goal of ensuring that all of our teachers have the training and knowledge to teach our students using research-based strategies.
We are increasing our trauma informed practices and working towards an inclusive community for all learners.
We are launching two specialized classrooms, one focused on Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI) and one on Autism. Each will be supported by a fulltime Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Social Worker, ensuring that the teachers in those classrooms will have lots of support.
