Description:

Elementary, Middle and high School Resource and Self-Contained Special Education Teachers throughout the Phoenix metro area are needed for the 24/25 school year. Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Special Education Teacher will provide tailored and consistent instruction to support students' academic growth and help them reach their full potential.  Pay is $52/hour or $81,120/school year.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Arizona certification in Special Education (SLD or Cross Categorical), be Highly Qualified as per IDEA 2004, and preferably have a Master's degree in Special Education.

Essential skills include knowledge of Arizona Special Education statutes, IDEA law, research-based instructional practices, classroom-based assessments, and IEP development. Proficiency in oral and written communication, use of educational technology, and ability to establish effective working relationships are crucial. Responsibilities include implementing direct instruction based on IEPs, maintaining classroom organization, monitoring student progress, adapting curriculum, collaborating with general education teachers, training paraprofessionals, and participating in professional development. The role requires physical mobility, occasional lifting, and exposure to various weather  conditions.
